Getting more from
every global payment

Elk & Friends simplified multi-currency spend and turned everyday expenses – including six-figure ad costs and supplier payments – into rewards.

About Elk & Friends

Elk & Friends is an Australian e-commerce brand known for its sustainable, kid-friendly products, from glass smoothie cups to porcelain plates with silicone sleeves. What started with one baby food jar has grown into a line of popular products, designed with eco-conscious families in mind.

Selling primarily through Amazon, D2C, the brand has grown organically, fuelled by word of mouth and loyal customers. They now have a presence in Australia, USA, Canada and the UK.

Founded: 2015

Platform: Amazon

Team size: 8

Founder: Georgie Kerr

Industry: Sustainable children’s products

Markets: USA, Canada, Australia, UK

The challenge

Inefficient processes and high fees

As Elk & Friends scaled, international payments and recurring expenses became harder to manage across multiple markets.

Losing money on conversion fees

Georgie often used Australian credit or debit cards to pay for international expenses and advertising in other markets, losing money through conversion fees when settling USD or CAD invoices.

Limited visibility

Traditional corporate cards offered little clarity on FX margins, and with ad spend, subscriptions and bills scattered across platforms, global spending became more complex.

No cashback on everyday business spend

Despite recurring expenses – particularly advertising, which ran into six figures – previous cards offered no cashback, which meant missed opportunities to reinvest savings into growth.

A lot of times we had to use an Australian credit card or debit card and we'd lose money through conversion fees. It started to get out of hand when we expanded our operations recently.

The solution

One card, multiple currencies

By switching to the World Card, Georgie was able to streamline global payments and gain full visibility over expenses. She issued separate cards – each linked to her World Account – to different purposes, making it easy to manage budgets and cash flow. She now pays monthly bills, subscriptions, ad spend and travel expenses in different currencies from her account.

Multi-currency flexibility

Georgie could pay USD, CAD and AUD directly from her World Account balance using the World Card, with no FX fees or conversion required.

Simplified spend management

She could issue up to 20 cards to manage spend by platform, currency or purpose and view all business expenses in one account.

Uncapped monthly cashback

Every dollar spent on ads, Amazon seller fees, office bills and travel expenses now earned cashback, allowing Georgie to reinvest the savings into the business.

The World Card was brilliant for us. Not just paying bills – it’s the cashback that you get too. There’s no other business card in the market that gives you uncapped cashback.

The results

Immediate savings on global expenses

Cashback on all spend

Everyday expenses now earn 1% uncapped cashback, with thousands credited to Georgie’s World Account every month*.

No more conversion losses

Paying directly from USD and CAD balances eliminates FX fees that other card issuers typically charge, maximising savings alongside earning cashback.

One card, multiple currencies

Georgie uses the World Card to pay in USD, CAD and AUD, and set up separate cards with individual caps to control budgets.

Global spend management

With incoming sales and outgoing payments connected in one platform, tracking cash flow is easier than ever.

Running a business, it’s difficult to manage all your expenses. With the World Card, it allows us to manage multiple transactions, multiple currencies, all through the one card.

Scaling smarter with the World Card

As Elk & Friends prepares to expand beyond North America, Georgie is focused on building a brand that’s sustainable – both in product and profit. Entering new markets means new currencies and increased advertising spend. The World Card and World Account are set to scale with her. With them, she can:

Switching to WorldFirst was an easy option for us. There are low fees or transparent fees to pay suppliers. Having the World Card is great, as well as having an account manager.
