Wise is an international payments provider for sending money overseas and converting between 24 currencies.1,2 In Africa, personal accounts are available in Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana and Kenya, while Wise Business is currently available in Kenya.1,3 Also, all Wise accounts are send-only in these markets, and virtual cards are not available.1

Xero and NetSuite integrations are also available for transaction management and reconciliation.

Geegpay, now known as Raenest, provides business accounts with USD, GBP, EUR and NGN account details for receiving international payments, holding balances, converting currencies and sending funds to 70+ countries.6 Each transaction comes at a cost starting at US$1 (except transfers to Nigeria with cost zero) and varies by currency.7,8 It also offers invoices, payment links, accounting integrations and virtual USD business cards with team controls.6 Business accounts are available in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana.8,9,10

Chipper Cash provides personal and business accounts in Nigeria and Ghana.12,13 Personal accounts support sending payments, while business accounts add receiving functionality, higher transaction limits and priority support.12,13 Users can access USD virtual accounts for receiving USD payments and USD virtual cards (carrying a fee starting from US$1) for online payments.14,15 The USD virtual account also carries monthly charges starting at US$1.50.14

nSave offers personal and business accounts, with business accounts available in Nigeria, Morocco and Kenya.17,18Businesses can receive, hold, convert and send USD, GBP and EUR through local account details.17 USD accounts support ACH and wire payments, GBP accounts use sort code and account numbers, and EUR accounts use IBAN details.17 nSave also provides a virtual Mastercard for online payments and subscriptions.19 But, users must note that Nigerian customers cannot receive incoming funds in their GBP accounts currently.20

Eversend provides personal and business accounts in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana, with its business account supporting 16 currencies, including USD, EUR and GBP.22,23,24 Businesses can receive, hold, convert and send funds, use virtual USD/EUR/GBP account details and issue USD virtual cards with team controls.23 The platform also supports local collections and international payouts.23 But, a few costs are worth noting: virtual cards cost US$0.99 monthly or US$2.99 once, while international card transactions can cost 3.5% + US$0.50.25 Currency conversion charges also range from 0.9%–1.5%.23

PayPal enables individuals and businesses to make and accept international payments, with online payment and checkout tools available in supported markets.27 Business accounts are available in Morocco and Kenya for receiving online payments, while Nigeria supports personal foreign currency accounts for sending payments only.27,28,29 PayPal also does not offer business cards in these markets.

Remitly is an international money transfer service.31 It does not offer personal or business accounts, multi-currency balances or virtual cards.
