How to generate proof of account ownership (Account Verification Letter) online

When a merchant opens a new marketplace storefront or changes the bank account details linked to an existing storefront, marketplaces often require proof of account ownership - such as a statement or account opening letter (often referred to as an ‘Account Verification Letter’) - to begin receiving payments into the new account.

With World Account, there is no longer a need to pick up the phone to request this document, we’ve automated and simplified the process, enabling our customer to generate an account verification letter directly from the dashboard, allowing you to move faster with your marketplace account setup.

Step 1:

Log into your World Account dashboard and navigate to Currency accounts via the left-hand menu.

Step 2:

Once on the Currency account page, expand the account you would like the Verification letter for, by clicking on the > to the left-hand side of the account name. Then select 'Request verification letter'.

Step 3:

You will see the Request account verification letter form. Input your registered business address details.

This will be displayed on the Account Verification Letter so make sure it is correct.

The Account Holder name will be prefilled and cannot be changed.

When you are happy that the information entered is correct click ‘Request’.

Step 4:

You will see this success message.

Your Account Verification Letter will be sent via email to your account email address within one business day, but in most case will be within the hour.

Step 5:

You will receive 2 documents via email:

✔ Account Verification Letter

✔ Currency account statement: Displaying transaction amounts in and out for the last complete calendar month (or from account opening until current date if the account was opened within the last month).
