What is a virtual Visa card?

A virtual Visa card is a digital payment card that provides a card number, expiry date and security code without requiring a physical card. Depending on the issuer, it can be linked to a business bank account, wallet or pre-funded balance, or operate against an approved credit limit.

Virtual cards can be used for online shopping, subscriptions, software payments and other e-commerce transactions. Features vary by provider, including instant issuance, 3D Secure authentication, spending controls and international transaction support.
