How to get paid from Amazon using the World Account

Contents

Connect an Amazon seller account to the World Account and receive payouts in the marketplace’s local currency, without forced conversion into local currency on arrival.

Key takeaways

  • WorldFirst is an Amazon Payment Service Provider (PSP), letting sellers receive payouts from Amazon US, UK and Europe directly into a matching local currency account
  • Sellers get local account details in USD, GBP, EUR and other supported currencies–no need for a bank account in each country
  • The World Account receives Amazon payouts in the original currency and holds the balance until the seller decides to convert or spend
  • The setup process involves five steps: opening a World Account, creating a receiving account, adding a same-name payee, linking to Amazon Seller Central, and verifying the bank details

Selling on Amazon internationally is one of the fastest ways to reach global customers from Pakistan or Bangladesh. But when payout day arrives, the same problem hits every seller: Amazon pays in USD, GBP or EUR, and traditional local banks convert the currency to local currency the moment funds often land at their own exchange rate, with a receiving fee on top.

The World Account changes that. It gives sellers local account details in each marketplace’s currency, so Amazon payouts arrive in the original currency and stay there. This guide covers how the connection works and what to expect at each step.

Why use the World Account for Amazon payouts?

The World Account is a multi-currency account from WorldFirst, an international payments provider that helps businesses manage cross-border payments. Instead of holding funds in a single currency, the World Account gives sellers local account details in 15+ currencies including USD, GBP, EUR and CNH, all managed from one dashboard.

WorldFirst is registered as an Amazon Payment Service Provider (PSP), so an Amazon seller account can be linked directly to the matching currency account inside the World Account. Payouts flow directly from Amazon to the seller’s World Account:

  • Amazon US payouts land in the USD balance
  • Amazon UK payouts land in the GBP balance
  • Amazon Europe payouts land in the EUR balance

There’s no intermediary bank, no forced conversion to PKR or BDT on arrival, and zero fees on receiving funds regardless of payout volume.

Once payouts arrive, the balance stays in the original currency until the seller decides what to do with it. Sellers can hold funds until exchange rates are favourable, convert into another currency at the applicable rate, or spend directly on business expenses using the same balance.

The World Card for spending directly from Amazon payouts

The World Card is a Mastercard-powered business payment card linked to the World Account. Sellers can spend from their currency balances directly using the card. If USD is sitting in the Amazon payouts balance, that same USD can be used to pay for:

  • Amazon Advertising bills
  • Seller software subscriptions like Helium 10 or Jungle Scout
  • Freelance services and hired help
  • Ad platforms like Meta and Google Ads

Key features of the World Card:

  • Mastercard-powered business payment card accepted in 150+ currencies
  • Up to 20 virtual cards at no additional cost, so sellers can separate expense categories or team members
  • No fees when paying in any of the 15+ supported currencies (with sufficient balance held in that currency)
  • Spending controls, card freeze and unfreeze, and real-time transaction monitoring

Setting up the connection: How to get paid from Amazon with your World Account

Step 1: Open a World Account

Register with WorldFirst and complete the onboarding process. Business or personal details, identification documents and business registration documents (where applicable) need to be submitted. Verification typically takes a few business days. If you’re new to WorldFirst, this guide on how to sell on Amazon covers the broader setup for international sellers.

Step 2: Create a receiving account

Once the World Account is active, log in to the dashboard and open a receiving account in the currency of the target Amazon marketplace. For Amazon US, open a USD account. For Amazon UK, open a GBP account. For Amazon Europe, open a EUR account.

Each account comes with local details including account number and routing number..

Step 3: Add a same-name payee

Amazon requires that funds be withdrawn to a bank account held in the seller’s own name. To meet this requirement, add a same-name payee to the World Account. Under “Payees,” add a new payee, choose “Your own account,” and select whether the linked account is personal or business.

Add a same-name payee

Once submitted, WorldFirst may run a small verification transfer (a “penny test”) or request supporting documents such as a bank statement or account verification letter. This step is a one-off — once verified, the payee stays linked to the World Account.

Step 4: Add the World Account details to Amazon Seller Central

In Amazon Seller Central, go to Settings → Account Info → Payment Information → Deposit Methods. Add a new deposit method and select the Bank Location Country matching the World Account receiving account.

Copy the World Account details across:

  • Amazon US: account number and routing number
  • Amazon UK: sort code and bank account number
  • Amazon Europe: IBAN and BIC

Save the deposit method and confirm it’s assigned to the correct store.

Step 5: Verify the bank account

Amazon requires bank account verification before disbursing funds. On the Deposit Methods page, select the newly added bank account and click Verify Bank Account. Amazon typically asks for a bank document, the Account Verification Letter (AVL) which can be generated from the World Account works for this.

Upload the AVL and submit for verification. Amazon usually confirms the result within 48 to 72 hours. Once verified, Amazon payouts start flowing directly into the matching currency account inside the World Account.

Getting more from the World Account

The World Account integrates with 130+ marketplaces and payment gateways including Etsy, Shopify, Stripe and others, so sellers running multiple channels can consolidate payouts in one place. The World Account also serves as a foreign currency account for holding, converting and spending across 15+ currencies from a single dashboard.

For sellers scaling across Amazon US, UK and Europe, the practical benefit is simple: revenue arrives in the currency the marketplace operates in, expenses get paid in the currency the vendor bills in, and conversions happen only when the seller chooses.
