World First UK Ltd, the foreign exchange broker, has been named the 53rd fastest growing company in the UK in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100, the esteemed list of the fastest growing, privately-owned companies in the UK.

World First UK Ltd, based in Battersea in London, has seen sales grow by 79% per year over the last three years and now looks after 20,000 private individuals and over 4,000 corporate clients.  During the same period, profits are also up by 55% per year and turnover in 2009 will exceed £1billion.

Founding director, Jonathan Quin, said, “When my business partner, Nick Robinson, and I started the business almost six years ago we had high hopes and the growth we’ve seen has been amazing.  From being just the two of us, we now have nearly 80 members of staff and, since we opened our Australia office in January, operate a 24-hour business.

Jonathan continues, “We attribute our growth to genuinely offering something ‘different’ in the foreign exchange market. We offer our clients the best price but also the best service. An exceptional, bright and talented team of people coupled with good ideas and innovation has been vital to us achieving this growth.

“Nick and I are proud of what the team has achieved and being included in this year’s Fast Track is a great accolade to receive, particularly in the current economic climate.”

Nick and Jonathan still have grand plans for further growth, “We expect the trading environment to remain challenging next year but we’re in a strong position and have some very exciting new developments for 2010 including our new online trading platform and a new worldfirst.com website.” Jonathan concluded.
