Andy Ayim - Junior Product Manager

My background:

Like many Millennials, I have been interested in entrepreneurs and start-ups since graduating from university in 2010. Since then I have been fortunate enough to travel and work in over 40 countries with corporates, investors (VC’s) and start-ups during my tenure as a Management Consultant. During my time in San Francisco and Silicon Valley in 2015, I decided I wanted a change. I was looking for a company with the start-up culture and feel but also the stability and growth of an established company based in London.

Why did I start at World First?

World First appealed to me because it still has that small company feel, it was hugely successful and most importantly it felt that I could grow both personally and professionally whilst contributing to the continued success of the business. In my role as Product Manager, I get to work across the intersection between my interests and skillset through building products customers love, based on continuous engagement and testing.

More about me:

Outside of work I blog about lessons learned along my journey to help first-time entrepreneurs execute their ideas in a cost-effective way through validation with customers. You can see examples of my posts on Medium or catch me at monthly Product Tank community events for Product Managers.

Hannah Buckley - International Strategic Planning and Project Manager

My background:

I started my post-university career in PR and communications strategy and enjoyed the diversity and variety of PR agency work, but wanted to influence the strategic decisions behind the projects that fell to me to communicate. So, in order to develop the knowledge to make this career change, I embarked upon an MBA at Cass Business School.

Why did I start at World First?

I came across World First when deciding on the topic and subject to base my dissertation on. I was attracted to World First’s focus on growth and expansion, which seemed lacking in other Financial Services companies that were facing cuts and rationalisation. After completing a project on the international growth strategy for World First, I took a full-time role as Strategic Planning and Project Manager within the International Development team. In this role, I get to use analytical skills to identify new markets and work with every team across the business to deliver international projects.

More about me:

I am passionate about exercise and fitness, and in my spare time have harnessed my knowledge of identifying strategic opportunities and executing projects to launch a dance fitness class called Academy of Vibe.
