Six years ago, design duo Jason and Camilla Iftakhar had a big idea to revitalise the daily commute. A shared passion for adventure and innovation, they dreamt up Swifty Scooters, a human powered vehicle that made transport fun. Forget packed trains and sweaty buses, Jason and Iftakhar created the Swifty Scooter as an appealing alternative for commuters.
Fast forward to 2017, Swifty Scooters have gone truly global selling far as wide from the States to Shanghai, collaborating with international brands like Paul Smith, Penguin Books and Conran Shop.
What’s the secret to their success? Thinking big and thinking beyond borders. In our Expert on Export series, WorldFirst economist Edward Hardy speaks to co-founder Jason Iftakhar on how they became a mini-multinational and what other small businesses can learn from their experiences.
Join us on Tuesday, August 15th at 2:30 to whizz through Swifty’s origins, and story so far, covering the pitfalls, boons, hurdles and helping hands that mark the transition from domestic beginnings to global success.
