We’ve been picking through the recent Amazon Summer Report to bring you the bits that we think are the most interesting.

If you’ve got the time, read the whole thing. If not, that’s where our top picks come in.

Last week, we highlighted the most-bought items in different parts of the UK.

Here are some of the other things we picked out…

Amazon Marketplace – our top 3 stats

  • 400 million products ordered from Amazon Marketplace sellers in last 12 months.
  • Up 35% – the amount of UK sellers earning revenues of over £1million
  • 120 million – the number of distinct products on amazon.co.uk

Amazon Lending

An interesting new development, this. According to the report, feedback from Amazon sellers suggests that “as small businesses develop, lack of funding can be a challenge that hinders growth.”

With Amazon Lending, qualifying sellers can apply for loans ranging from £1,000 to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Prime Now in London

We know all about Amazon Prime, but the next big thing is Prime Now. This launched in parts of London back in June, and in Birmingham in August. It will cover all off London and other UK cities by the end of the year, and offers Prime members one hour delivery on thousands of products.

Take a look at the report HERE, and in our third roundup blog, we’ll look at the run up to Christmas.
