Good morning,

Sterling lost ground against many of its major counterparts yesterday despite British health minister Sajid Javid attempts to strike an upbeat tone to go beyond July 19 to lift coronavirus-related restrictions.

Brexit was also back in the headlines as the EU’s chief negotiator said he is confident a solution can be found in the next 48 hours over a possible ban on chilled meat products from GB being sold in NI. The current protocol is part of the Brexit deal that creates a border in the Irish Sea and it keeps NI in the European Union single market for goods. The UK has asked the EU to delay the ban of the import of chilled meat products through extending a so-called grace period.

Despite this the easing in the EU-UK sausage war it isn’t helping much to solve the Brexit riddle as Irish Taoiseach’s aim to talk with the unionists may renew pressure over the border problems. With little data out today keep an eye on any updates in the above narratives.

Have a great day.
