What happens after I register?

After we’ve received your registration documents, your receiving bank account details are normally sent to you within 10 working days. If you haven’t received this email after 10 working days, please contact us immediately.

How much does the account cost?

All our charges are set out on the following pages for vendors based in the UK, North America, Europe and the rest of the world.

What's the shortest amount of time I can have an account for?

There is no minimum duration for holding an account with us. Should you wish to close any of your accounts, please email etailers@worldfirst.com to notify us. Please note that no account is closed until you receive email confirmation from us that we have acknowledged your request.

We incur costs keeping accounts open, so we reserve the right to close accounts where the account is inactive or the transaction turnover is very low over a three month period. If this happens, we shall contact you by email and you will be given three months notice to resume transactions through the account, otherwise it will be closed following this notice period.

The Process

How do you keep me updated on my current balance(s)?

European and North American account balance notification emails are sent every Monday. If you are based in the US, you will receive UK account balance notification emails every Monday. If you are based outside the US, you will receive UK account balance notification emails every Tuesday.

How do I request a transfer?

You can respond directly to the balance notification emails to request a transfer of your funds, or you can call us on +44 20 7801 1068. You can also email on etailers@worldfirst.com.
Please remember UK office hours are 8.30am-5.30pm.
Please make sure you have given us details of the beneficiary account before you ask us to make a transfer.

Do I have a login to access my balance?

No. You will receive a balance notification email each week detailing your balance. You simply need to reply to this and your money will be sent. Alternately you can contact us any time at etailers@worldfirst.com for an ad hoc balance or transfer request.

How do I fill in the payment details form?

If your home bank account is in the USA

Please make sure you give us the names and addresses for the account holder and the bank. For US transactions, you’ll need to give us the account number and ABA Routing number. Please contact your bank to get your SWIFT code as well. For ‘purpose of transfer’ just write 'Repatriating overseas earnings'. 

For European and Asian based sellers

Please make sure you give us the names and addresses for the account holder and the bank. You’ll also need to give us IBAN and the SWIFT codes. Please enter your purpose of transfer as 'Repatriating overseas earnings'.

How long do payments take to credit my account?

USD payments credit the same day as they are paid out. EUR, GBP and other currency payments take 2-4 days to credit from the day they are paid out.

Can I get a breakdown of deposits into my account?

Yes you can receive a statement for up to one month by email.  For statements more than one month back there is a charge.  They are £15 / EUR20 / $25.  Please email etailers@worldfirst.com if you need a statement.

Who can send money to this account?

E-commerce marketplace sites that have been verified by World First. Please contact the team if you would like to know if a website that you would like to sell on is supported. If it’s possible, the member of the team will tell you immediately.

Can I use World First to save money on PayPal transfers?

Yes, it is now possible to benefit from our industry-beating exchange rates when you transfer funds from a US/European PayPal account. By depositing your dollars, Euros or Sterling directly into a local bank account, World First will convert the funds at a better rate of exchange that can save you 1-2% of your total sales volume. To do so you will need the following:

A US/European receiving bank account (provided by World First) 

A local US/European phone number* 

A US/European postal address* 

An email address that is not already associated with another PayPal account 

* There are a number of third-party companies online that offer mail and call forwarding services.

Once you have successfully registered with PayPal US/Europe, you have to verify your account. Usually, PayPal will make two small deposits in the local bank account and ask you to enter the exact amounts online. This can take 1-3 working days, so please let us know if you have asked for bank account verification and we will notify you of the amounts once the funds credit.

If PayPal contacts you to request a statement as proof of holding the local bank account, please let us know and we’ll provide a confirmation letter.

Can I draw money from the account?

No, the account is only used for the purpose of receiving funds in from the e-commerce site that you are selling on.

What about credit card details and an address?

World First do not provide you with a credit card or an address. Please speak to your website representative when you upload the account details we give you. They will be able to help you or direct you.

How can I certify/notarise my documents?

You can ask any of the following people to certify your documents:

Accountant

Bank/building society official

Barrister

Commissioner of oaths

Justice of the Peace

Local government officer

Member of parliament

Serving police officer

Solicitor/Lawyer

Whoever you ask to certify your document(s), you must provide them with both the original document and the copy and ask them to write on (or stamp) the copy: "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document".

You must also ensure that they write (or stamp) the following information In English on each document that they certify:

The date

Their signature

Their name and title printed clearly

Their personal or business address

Their contact number

Their registration number (if applicable)
