World First’s Jeremy Cook wins prestigious City award
Foreign exchange brokers, World First, were celebrating this morning after their chief economist, Jeremy Cook, scooped the award in the finance category at the ‘Square Mile World Spreads 30 Under 30’ Awards.
Jeremy beat some of the City’s most promising young individuals to win the award, at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Museum of London on Friday 25 March.
“I’m honoured to win this award and dedicate it to all the World First team,” he said. “I hope that I can continue to provide my colleagues and clients with the service and insight that I try to bring to my work for a long time yet.”
Still only 26, Jeremy has a natural ability to communicate sometimes complicated economic analysis into an everyday language which people can understand.
This has made him a popular choice for broadcasters looking for economic commentary on a range of subjects in the last 12 months, including most recently interest rates, the UK services sector, the UK’s tentative growth and the Fed.
He has a large following on Twitter where he provides up to date economic analysis to a legion of followers who include high profile editors, journalists, economists and business leaders. @World_First was shortlisted for a ‘Shorty’ award for financial comment earlier this year.
In addition, his daily webcasts on the state of the economy have a strong following, and are relied upon by thousands of World First clients to keep them up to date on the fluctuating currency markets. This daily service is presented in concise, informative videos every morning, proving an invaluable resource for anyone who is involved in moving money internationally.
Each year Square Mile magazine celebrates 30 of London’s top achievers under the age of 30. Winners are chosen from several categories including entrepreneurship, social enterprise, technology & design, politics, law, sport and finance.
