Because we transact more than £3bn a year, we're able to access the same interbank market rates as the high street banks. We make our money by taking a smaller margin from this rate which allows us to pass the savings on to you. The interbank rate is the one the banks trade with each other at, and also the one you see quoted in the press, on the news and the one used by online currency converters.
When we quote you an exchange rate, we'll do so having listened to your needs. Then you can be sure you'll be getting the best deal and the best service.
We're so confident we can offer you the best rate, we guarantee it with our best rate guarantee* (subject to terms and conditions). Our best rate guarantee only applies before you have agreed to a rate and entered into a transaction.
If you get a better quote from another provider talk to us. And so that we can put our money where our mouth is we'll ask you a couple of questions to check that you qualify for our Best Rate Guarantee -
- Are you a registered World First client, and also registered with the other provider?
- Was the amount you were quoted for, and the amount you are looking to transfer, the same?
- And what time did you obtain the quote? eg midday, mid-afternoon
We work off live market rates and therefore immediately go into the market to buy the required currency at our clients' request. Our Best Rate Guarantee can only apply at initial quote stage, ie before you decide to go ahead and book a transaction with us, whether by phone or online.
It does not apply once you have agreed to a rate, the transaction has been entered into and the currency bought. This means we cannot cancel or amend a transaction already entered into in the unlikely event you find a better quote. We cannot match an off-market rate - that is one better than the Interbank rate at the time of quoting.
